Province Hainaut (Henegouwen)In Hainaut some big stones are still standing. 'Pierre Brunehault' - HolainPierre Brunehault in Holain, near Tournai (Doornik), is the most imposing Belgian megalith. Description:Height +- 3m50 rising till +- 4m20 (+2 meter under ground), width 3m50, dept +- 50cm. Weight almost 25 ton. Sandstone from Landen (B), dated +- 2500 B.C.?
The name 'Brunehault' refers to 'Chaussée Brunehault', the 'antique' road from Bavai to Boulogne. This stone is also called 'Brune Pierre' (Brown Stone).
Legend:Near 1750 A.D. the stone began to incline, after a farmer made a hole
