In the province Brabant-Wallon few remarkable stones survived. 'Le cheval de Godde' - Chaumont-GistouxThe standing stone in Chaumont-Gistoux was excavated in 1968 in a field
called 'Champs
des Gottes', and erected near the field. 'Cheval' means horse.
In 1971 two other standing stones whit equal form where found about 100 meter from 'Le cheval de Godde'. According to M. Brou they are now lying in the woods nearby. 'La Grosse Borne' - Perwez
Close from Chaumont-Gistoux, nearby Perwez, exist 'La Grosse Borne', the 'fat
landmark'. 'La Pierre-qui-tourne' - Beaurieux (Court Saint-Etienne)A pentagonal stone, periphery +- 7m50, thickness +- 45 cm.
A legend explains the stone turns each time the church bell in Court Saint-Etienne strikes midnight... 'Back to top' - Province Vlaams Brabant (= next page) |
