ThyThe many grave-mounds dominating the country are characteristic for the peninsula Thy.
Lundehoj"Lundehoj" near Ullerup, alongside road nr. 11, is the only remaining
passage tomb in Thy. It is well preserved and nice located near the fjord. This
tomb is unusual whit a second little grave chamber.
The monument is shut whit a grid. The key and candles are available in the farm nearby, a little contribution is demanded. At the entrance of the little second room in Lundehøj are found two Bronze Age stones whit carved designs. This shows the hill was still in use 2000 year after it was constructed. The chamber in Lundehøj was discovered in 1837, when the owner wanted to build a furnace in the hill's side. A hole was made; two passing boys saw the room and briefed the local priest. This leaded to the hill's protection.
DoverkilAn interesting nature reserve in the south-part of Thy, where are several grave-mounds to visit. In the little forest "Dover Plantage" are laying a few long barrows (nr. 1). In the area's south "Ydby Hede" exist a field of grave-mounds that still include about 30 hills. (nr. 2). In the southwest in "Klovenhoj", two Bronze Age grave-mounds. (nr.3).
CoastIn the dunes near the coast you can see many remains of the "Atlantic Wall" (WWII).
