D43 - Schimmeres

This is a so called 'long barrow', the only one in the Netherlands.
In fact this barrow is formed by two hunebedden under one covering hill.
The hill is encircled by a ring of 52 kerbstones.

The 'chambers' are small compared the hills length. The 40 meter large hill is renewed, the circle of kerbstones restored. Regrettable is the cement used by restoration of this remarkable monument.
