Dolmen Wéris (Wéris I)

The northern, also called Wéris I, is the first stop on the "Megalith walk". Thanks to the parking nearby this dolmen is easy to reach by coach, but also crowded.

Puddingstone

The megaliths in Wéris look like they where made in concrete, because they are formed in the local "puddingstone".
Puddingstone is a sediment stone whit little boulder, like in concrete. A big quantity natural cement (sediment) fixed the boulders together.

The large supporting stones are remarkable.

In front of the dolmen some "escorting" standing stones, originally located elsewhere in the area. On farmers demand they where moved  over here.
